I am transported back to Dahilayan, Bukidnon. Waiting for my turn to ride the 850m zipline which is not for the faint of heart. The nervous shrieks and giggles are now replaced with quiet anticipation. The fear already drained out of my system. Quietly, I tell myself “It’s now or never”. My palms are cold and my heart is beating at a steady pace. My blood is rushing to my head as I am attached to the harness. I’m just waiting for the gates to open, for the flight master to give the “go” signal. I’m just going to close my eyes and bask in the moment of mixed emotions racing in my system once again—- fear, fulfillment, and the excitement of being able to accomplish such a feat.
I just pray that the harness won’t snap, and the cables don’t f*ck up.
This is it. It’s just me, guts, and the wild ride.
